Which type of massage should I choose?
All of our massages are custom to fit your needs. The different massage types are simply a guideline. Once you are with your therapist, they will determine with you what the best treatment is. (For example, your therapist may use hot stones during a deep tissue massage to warm up your muscles). So choose what you think closest fits your needs when booking an appointment and we will customize your session!
Do you accept medical insurance?
We do not accept insurance at this time and do not have any set plans to. However, we can provide a receipt and any other documentation requested by your insurance provider for you to submit on your own behalf. In addition, we do accept FSA (Flexible spending account) cards.
Do you accept HSA/FSA cards?
Yes, we accept HSA/FSA (Health/flexible spending account) cards. Please check with your human resources representative to ensure that massage is considered a valid charge under your provider and government regulations (typically massage is covered).

What kind of setting is The Muscle Whisperer?
Up to you! While your comfort is of utmost importance to us, we hire only the best therapists in town. All Whisperers are highly skilled, extremely experienced, and meet the standard of professionalism established by Kayla. Rest assured that no matter which Whisperer you choose, you will receive an unmatched level of care. Call us brass, but it doesn't matter to us and it shouldn't matter to you, either!

Why can't I share massages purchased through my monthly membership with someone else?
Our monthly membership is a wellness membership designed to make it affordable for our clients to receive routine massages. Our intent, by offering this membership, is to ensure that you are receiving regular and routine massages at price that makes it affordable. Regular massages help keep you out of pain. For this reason, our policy is that only the membership holder can use massages specially priced under their plan.

I want to book a massage online for today, but I'm afraid of booking online with short notice.
Our booking system is designed to notify us immediately when an appointment is booked. We manually confirm the appointment ourselves, as well as update our schedule daily. So have no fear: If you book an open spot, your therapist will be there.
I sometimes experience soreness for a few days after my massage. Is this normal?
When a deep tissue massage is done correctly, you will experience the benefits over the next few days. You may feel rejuvenated, or a bit sore. Everybody reacts differently. Any stiffness or pain experienced after a deep tissue massage is a completely normal reaction and should subside within 24-72 hours. Think of deep tissue massage as similar to your muscles getting a tough workout: You may be sore, but will feel great after your muscles recover.
How can I take care of myself after a massage?
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! After your session, your muscles not only need, but crave water. Consuming protein after a massage can also help shorten muscle recovery time, as well as provide quicker relief of soreness.

Can I bring my child with me to a session?
Our rooms are large enough to accommodate having an extra person in the session with you. In order to not interfere with sessions in the other room, we ask that you contact us first to make sure that we can accommodate your little one hanging out during the session, every session. Unfortunately, under no circumstances may a minor wait in the lobby.
At your first appointment, we do ask for a number of forms to be filled out and/or signed. This paperwork is essential to providing the utmost care to our clients, as well as protects our clients and therapists legally.
While we understand that noone likes to fill out paperwork (and we know that we have a hefty amount), in reality it only takes about five minutes to fill out our forms. Five minutes of paperwork to support our high standard of care...and we promise to never ask you to fill it out again!
